The Power of Lemon

My son Samuel tried to grow anything and everything this color. He grew 'Yellow Boy' Tomatoes, Yukon Gold Potatoes, Yellow Wax beans, dark yellow calendula he even tried growing Luffa which he said looked sorta yellow and these wonderfully fluffy lemon yellow marigolds! I wonder what color he will choose
this year?

Wake up Little Sunflower!

My son Samuel (10) made this beautiful picture of sunflowers in his art class with little pieces of construction paper. We are already discussing what flowers we will plant this year. I think we may go overboard on the sunflowers this year!

Hot Shot!

Happy Valentine's Day to all of you plant lovers out there! This is a shot of a massive California Giant Zinnia, one of my faves to grow. This one was the only double hot pink out of the entire packet of seeds purchased at a dollar store. They say you get what you pay for. I think I got more than my money's worth. This one was amazing!

'Valentino' for my Valentine!

I loved these soft black eyes with lemon yellow lashes looking at me while I harvested veg & herbs in my garden. These produced small but profuse amounts of blooms all summer long and right into fall. These made great bouquets for the farmers market! I will definately grow these again. Height was approx. 7-8 ft. Very thin stem but extremely sturdy.
